Robert "Bob" Palmgren is a French-trained, Certified Executive
Chef who has cooked in some of the most well-known fine-
dining establishments in the country.  He built an impressive
resume during the 30-year period prior to opening RJ's Bob-Be-
Que Shack in 2003, in which he fulfilled a life-long dream.  

Located on the convenient corner of Johnson Drive and Lamar
Avenue, RJ's opened Halloween 2003 and over the years we
transitioned from our humble beginnings of serving
sandwiches in foam boxes to the thriving business we are
today.  Our award-winning hickory-smoked meats, homemade
soups, and grilled fish -- not to mention our ever-popular fries
tossed in Bob's secret seasoning -- are all reasons why we have
been so successful.  Presently, we serve home-style country
breakfast on the weekends until 1pm and BBQ lunch and
dinner are available seven days a week.  The carry out and
catering aspects of RJ's have proved extremely successful and
are growing everyday.  We regularly feature live music,
highlighting local artists on our back patio, Mission City
Limits, in the warmer months and in our dining room during
the cooler ones.  Bob’s great dream of creating and serving the
best BBQ Kansas City has ever seen is coming truer and truer
every day.

RJ's Bob-Be-Que will be featured on
Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and
Dives! RJ's will have a watch party
beginning at 7 p.m. to celebrate the
big event. We will have the food
featured on the show on special. We
will also have drink specials. The
show airs at 9 p.m. and will be
showed on the big screen. Come see
your favorite BBQ Shack on national
TV!
